Step 1What's your hardiness zone?

The zone tells you which plants survive your winters. Plants that aren't hardy in your zone are greyed out in step 2, and bloom dates shift to match.

Not sure? Look up your ZIP code on the USDA hardiness zone map. Hardiness ranges and bloom shifts are estimates: a warm spring or a shady spot moves them too.

Step 2Pick your plants

Every plant here has one of my field cards. Aim for something in bloom from March to October so bees always have food.
